Writing mystery books set in Tokyo is mostly what I do, but I also blog about the odd stuff I see every day in Japan. I'm a graduate of Stanford University and the Sendagaya Japanese Institute in Tokyo, and a member of the International Thriller Writers, the Mystery Writers of America, and Sisters In Crime. When I'm not in Tokyo, I live in San Francisco. I also host a travel site called The Tokyo Guide I Wish I'd Had, so if you're headed to Japan and want to check out the places I take my friends when they're in town, take a look!
I’ve lived in Japan so long that these items and the others in your other blogs seem natural to me. Thanks for reopening my eyes and removing the scales. I now look more closely at items in stores and think to myself, “Ah, only in Japan.”
The same thing happens to me! Being on the lookout for stuff to write about regularly on this blog helps me keep my eyes open for little daily oddities, but often when I look back at the stuff I posted about at the beginning, I think “How could I have though that was weird?” heh. I’m so happy our paths crossed – it’s always great to meet a fellow enjoyer of Japanese life!
