Nothing says, “Thanks Mom, for going through three days of labor and not killing me when I was a teenager” like a nice bouquet of the cheesiest flowers money can buy. Yes, in a “tradition” that rivals eating KFC on Xmas Eve for its sheer WTFery, you’d be hard-pressed to find any Mother’s Day bouquet for sale at a Japanese florist (or card at the stationery store, for that matter) that doesn’t feature the flower immortalized by cheapskate prom dates.
