Jonelle Patrick is the author of five mysteries set in Japan. In addition to The Last Tea Bowl Thief and the Only In Tokyo mystery series, she produces the monthly e-magazine Japanagram and blogs at Only In Japan. She teaches at writing workshops, appears as a panelist at Thrillerfest, and was the keynote speaker at the Arrow Rock Writing Workshop. A graduate of Stanford University and the Sendagaya Japanese Language Institute, she holds a renewable cultural visa awarded by the Japanese government for writing about Japan. She’s also a member of the Mystery Writers of America, International Thriller Writers, Sisters in Crime, and the Historical Novel Society. She splits her time between San Francisco and Tokyo.

    Just to say hi & that i love your website. I can’t remember how i found it 3 years ago, but i keep on coming back ever since. Reading a few random articles always happens to cheer me up.

Your kind words mean more than you can know——so often it feels like everything I write is like throwing a leaf into the Grand Canyon (as she wistfully watches it waft out of sight) and to hear from a reader who is cheered by something I also found cheering/funny/gorgeous makes it all worthwhile. Thank you for bringing a smile to my face on this gray morning. I’ll go out with renewed cheer today to find some delightful stuff to post here, and meanwhile, I hope you are doing well too, and that you encounter something that makes you happy today too!
