Writing mystery books set in Tokyo is mostly what I do, but I also blog about the odd stuff I see every day in Japan. I'm a graduate of Stanford University and the Sendagaya Japanese Institute in Tokyo, and a member of the International Thriller Writers, the Mystery Writers of America, and Sisters In Crime. When I'm not in Tokyo, I live in San Francisco. I also host a travel site called The Tokyo Guide I Wish I'd Had, so if you're headed to Japan and want to check out the places I take my friends when they're in town, take a look!

  1. I think that’s exactly why weiners shouldn’t have anybody’s face.

P.S. I have safely arrived in Japan and am severely restricted by the Navy’s liberty rules, but I still have three things to report: 1) Japanese Dr. Pepper is WAY better than American 2) an arcade nearby has a Gundam simulator and I will probably spend a lot of money on it 3) I’m going to the Gundam cafe in Akihabara this Sunday!

    • Hey, welcome to Japan! (^O^☆♪ And the Gundam Cafe is the perfect way to feel right at home in your new parallel universe! (You’ve got to make it out to Odaiba soon too, and see the 5-story tall one.) Are you going to start up your blog again? I hope so, because I’m dying to hear about your new life here!
