Cheddar Cheesecake
And don’t forget the Camembert, Cream Cheese and Parmesan! This “Ice Cake Cheese Tart” is made from four, count ’em FOUR, kinds of cheeses seldom appearing together, even on a Japanese pizza. And yes, I did ask: it’s a dessert! Maybe it’s meant to be served á la mode, with a topping of Creamy Tomato ice cream…

Writing mystery books set in Tokyo is mostly what I do, but I also blog about the odd stuff I see every day in Japan. I'm a graduate of Stanford University and the Sendagaya Japanese Institute in Tokyo, and a member of the International Thriller Writers, the Mystery Writers of America, and Sisters In Crime. When I'm not in Tokyo, I live in San Francisco. I also host a travel site called The Tokyo Guide I Wish I'd Had, so if you're headed to Japan and want to check out the places I take my friends when they're in town, take a look!
I was thinking it actually sounded pretty good til I got to “it’s a dessert!” Bleah. So, it’s sweet?
It’s sweet, but I’ll bet it’s not very sweet. Like the cheese donut which packed a similar surprise, the taste of the cheese is much more prominent than in American cheesecakes.
I really love to munch cheesecakes because they are oh so tasty. i really like to eat like 2 or 4 per day. `:;,:
