Goth Yukata

What Goth girls wear on romantic dates to watch the traditional fireworks of summertime. Love that Kera magazine suggests accessorizing it with a black and white polka dot water pistol.

  1. That 10 000 yen note pattern suggest a kind of “gangsta” we haven’t seen much of in Japanese fashion! Love this. Good catch. If only I was a teenage girl in Japan… (^-^)

      1. Japan is the one place on earth where it is OK to be wrong, and that’s one of the reasons I stick around. Fashion Gestapo are lurking everywhere in my native Europe, but I prefer my fashion like this. Wrong on so many levels it doesn’t matter any more. I wish I had the courage.

And that obi is fantastic. Like she just skinned a python and wrapped it around herself as an afterthought. The stylist deserves a medal.

  2. I agree. One of the things I love about fashion in Japan is that it’s OK to try ANYTHING. The Fashion Police are even worse in the US, because you can be wrong just for looking like you’re making an effort. I love the number of obvious choices even BOYS put into their daily look here. It always makes me smile when I see them using the dark subway window as a mirror, tweaking their hair this way and that, totally unselfconsciously.
